The level of artistic expression among middle school students in Diyala Governorate

الملخص

This research aims to assess the level of artistic expression among middle school students. To achieve this objective, the researcher employed the descriptive method. The research tool was designed to encompass two domains:



  • Characteristics of Artistic Expression for Middle School Students, comprising 4 paragraphs.

  • Characteristics of Artistic Expression for a Previous Age Group, consisting of 10 paragraphs.


The tool included a total of 14 paragraphs, each rated on three levels: (not evident - evident - always evident). The researcher ensured the validity and reliability of the tool by establishing its scientific foundations and psychometric properties.


Using this tool, the researcher analyzed drawings collected from a sample of 160 first-grade intermediate students, evenly divided between 80 male students from 4 boys' schools and 80 female students from 4 girls' schools, totaling 8 schools in the Baqubah district center. This sample represented over 24% of the original population, which included 33 schools.


For statistical analysis, the researcher utilized the SPSS program. The results revealed a low level of artistic expression among middle school students, with a more significant decline observed among males.


Based on these findings, the researcher offered a set of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions to address the observed outcomes.
