الملخص
This study addresses the research problem titled Formal Transformations in Modern European Painting and is structured into four chapters.
The first chapter presents the research problem through the following central question: What is the role of formal transformations, and to what extent have they influenced modern European painting? Have these transformations contributed to an intellectual and aesthetic shift within the modern European artistic context? The chapter also outlines the significance of the study, its aim, which is to reveal the nature of formal transformations in modern European painting, and its scope, which focuses on analyzing selected artworks from the period 1874–1931, specifically within Europe. Additionally, key terms are defined. The second chapter constitutes the theoretical framework and includes three main sections: The concept of transformation from a philosophical perspective and the notion of form. The role of form in the plastic arts. The evolution and stages of modern European art. The third chapter, the procedural framework, details the research methodology. It defines the research population and identifies a sample consisting of three models representing different European art movements. It also introduces research tools and includes an analysis of the selected samples.
The fourth chapter presents the results derived from the individual and comparative analyses of the samples, followed by the conclusions, recommendations, proposals, and the list of references.
