تناول البحث موضوع ( السمات الرمزية في رسوم شوقي الموسوي) وقد تضمن أربعة فصول، جاء الفصل الأول ببيان مُشكلة البحث وأهمية البحث والحاجة إليه , وتحددت مُشكلة البحث بالإجابة عَن التساؤل الآتي: ما السمات الرمزية في رسوم شوقي الموسوي ؟، وتكمن أهمية البحث والحاجة إليه في أنه يسلط الضوء على واحدة من أهم مدارس الفن الحديث ( المدرسة الرمزية) بمواضيعها المتنوعة كما أنه يفييد المهتمين في حقل الفنون التشكيلية وطلبة قسم التربية الفنية , والبحث يهدف إلى ( التعرف على السمات الرمزية في رسوم شوقي الموسوي) ، وَمِن ثُم حدود البحث وتحديد أهم المُصطلحات. أما الفصل الثاني فقد ضمن الإطار النظري والذي إحتوى ثلاثة مباحث فقد تناول المبحث الأول( مفهوم السمة في الفن ) ثُم جاء المبحث الثاني ليتناول( الاتجاه الرمزي في الفن التشكيلي)، وتناول المبحث الثالث (تجربة الفنان شوقي الموسوي). واحتوى الفصل الثالث بإجراءات البحث وهي مُجتمع البحث، عينة البحث، أداة البحث، منهج البحث ومن ثم تحليل العينات، أما الفصل الرابع فقد شَمِلَ نتائج البحث والتي منها: كان للرمز في أعمال شوقي الموسوي الجسر الذي يربط بين الذاكرة الجمعية ( التراث ) والإلهام الفردي المعاصر. ومن ثُم الإستنتاجات، والتوصيات، والمُقترحات ثُم قائِمة المراجع والمصادر.
