Peer Review Policy
- Overview
Fnon Al-Rafidayn Journal adopts a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic value of published research. All submitted manuscripts undergo a structured evaluation process in line with international publishing standards.
- Type of Peer Review
The journal follows a double-blind peer review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure fairness and objectivity.
- Initial Screening
All submissions are first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Compliance with submission guidelines
- Basic academic quality
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
- Reviewer Assignment
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
In special cases, a third reviewer may be assigned.
- Review Process
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Methodological rigor
- Clarity of presentation
- Validity of results and conclusions
- Ethical compliance
- Review Timeline
The review process typically takes 3–4 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and responsiveness.
- Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ reports, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
The final decision rests with the editorial board.
- Confidentiality
All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or use any part of the manuscript for personal purposes.
- Ethical Considerations
The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Reviewers are expected to report any suspected plagiarism or unethical conduct.
- Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using iThenticate prior to peer review to ensure originality.
